Our Judges

The FENIX Innovation Book Awards judging panel is made up of:

  • Literary agents and editors

  • Librarians and bookstore professionals

  • Award-winning authors

  • Media & creative industry leaders

We’ve selected judges based on experience, ethics, and their passion for powerful storytelling.

Evaluation Timeline

  • September 2025 – Preliminary Judging Round
     

  • October 2025 – Finalist Selection & Final Round Judging
     

  • November 2025 – Winners Announced at the FENIX Awards Ceremony

Judging Criteria

Each submission is scored based on the following (weighted by category):

Fiction
  • Originality and concept

  • Writing style and readability

  • Character development

  • Plot and pacing

  • Emotional or thematic impact

Non-Fiction
  • Clarity and organization

  • Author voice and engagement

  • Depth and credibility of content

  • Relevance to target audience

Cover Design
  • Visual appeal

  • Typography and layout

  • Genre alignment and marketability

Audiobook
  • Narration quality and expression

  • Production value

  • Suitability to the book’s tone and genre

How We Keep It Fair

  • Every book is read and reviewed by at least 2–3 judges.
     

  • Judges do not evaluate books they were involved with.
     

  • All submissions are kept confidential.
     

  • Finalists are chosen based on top scores, and winners are selected after group deliberation.

We don’t believe in popularity contests — only quality.
